Every travel experience has a different and unique story to tell. BookitLyst’s founder, Alexandra Avila and editor, Ellen Freeman, traveled to India’s Golden Triangle to get a first-hand experience of the country’s diverse array of things to do and see. Their journey takes them to the bustling city streets of New Delhi, the mystical home of the Taj Mahal, Agra, and lastly to the culturally infused and colorful Pink City, Jaipur. The two returned with their own perspective of the Subcontinent, along with lively snapshots that tell two different, but enchanting stories.

If you’re ready to take on a similar adventure, with your own story to tell, then follow in the footsteps of our founder and editor by traveling on their 10-Day Dream Itinerary to India’s Golden Triangle. Be sure to share your own photos and stories using #BookitLyst.

Alexandra Avila's Trip

Alexandra, @travelinginheels

1. I’ll never forget… the riding elephants at Dera Amer Camp in Jaipur.
2. Never again… will I travel during Delhi’s rush hour traffic.
3. I can’t get enough… garlic naan that puts garlic knots to shame.
4. Take me back to… Agra’s Taj Mahal at sunrise for a different view, when the sky and structure reflect a different hue.
5. You have to see… the miniature paintings in Jaipur’s City Palace.
6. My secret to… shopping is to know the day’s exchange rate of US dollars to Rupees and to compare prices.

1. I’ll never forget… the sound of sufi devotional singing after sundown prayers at Delhi’s Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah.
2. Never again… will I buy bananas with a monkey nearby.
3. I can’t get enough… paneer tikka. Vegetarians rejoice!
4. Take me back to… Dilli Haat to buy all the embroidered shawls, woodblock stamps, and incense I didn’t have room for in my backpack.
5. You have to see… hundreds of criss-crossing flights of stairs reflected in the water at Panna Meena Baori step well in Amer, Jaipur.
6. My secret to… staying hydrated is masala soda–sweet, sour, salty, and just a little spicy.

Dream it, Book it, Live it.
