2016 is going to be a great year for travelers; exciting new properties are slated to open in bucket-list destinations like the Maldives, United Arab Emirates, Cambodia, and Colombia. Here are eight of the most anticipated hotels opening next year that are already on our radar. We don’t know about you, but our New Year’s resolution is to stay in one of these shiny new hotels next year.
1. Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa: Grand Cayman
Opening: November 2016
An oceanfront paradise stretching along Grand Cayman’s sublime Seven Mile Beach (named one of Trip Advisor’s top 10), this Kimpton boutique resort is awash in the vivid colors of the Caribbean. With open-air architecture, a Spanish tapas restaurant, and world class diving in Stingray City, they’re calling these elegant suites and bungalows a “modern sanctuary”.
2. Leeu Estates: Franschhoek, South Africa
Opening: Summer 2016
The Leeu Collection, a new luxury hotel brand in South Africa debuted in December of this year with the 5-star Leeu House in the vibrant Franschhoek winelands. Even more impressive is their stamina to open a sophomore property just minutes away and less than a year later. Summer of 2016 welcomes the Leeu Estates, a 19th century Manor House sitting on 170 acres of vineyards, accommodating 17 luxury rooms, four cottages and their first spa. We’re most excited about the Manor House Living Room, where a communal bar stocked with complimentary wines and local Cape Town brews and spirits are available for guests to indulge.
3. Amari Havodda: Republic of Maldives
Opening: January 15, 2016
Book now to snag one of this luxury resort’s 58 overwater villas or 48 beach villas for the property’s opening early next year. Snorkeling in the stunning coral reefs of one of the Maldivian archipelago’s most well-preserved atolls is just one things to look forward to at the Amari Havodda.
4. Cal Neva Resort: USA
Opening: May 26, 2016
The legendary Cal Neva Resort, which was once owned by Frank Sinatra and drew A-lister guests like Marilyn Monroe, the Kennedys, and members of the Rat Pack, will reopen next year as a Starwood Luxury Collection Resort. The only thing that won’t undergo a complete renovation is the property’s location on the north shore of gorgeous Lake Tahoe.
5. Arovada by AKARYN: Cambodia
Opening: June 2016
Designed by innovative fashion icon Kenzo Takada, this Cambodian private island retreat is anticipated to “disappear into its environment and leave the lightest of footprints.” This connoisseur’s destination is nestled among the secret emerald inlets just a private helicopter ride away from Phnom Penh, and will offer wellness and epicurean delights in a pristine natural setting.
6. Shanghai Disney Resort: China
Opening: Spring 2016
Mickey aficionados around the world eagerly await the opening of the Shanghai Disney Resort, the first Disney park in mainland China. In addition to the biggest Disney castle ever, the park will include the Art Nouveau-inspired signature Shanghai Disneyland Hotel. Across the glittering Wishing Star Lake, a whole hotel will be dedicated to Toy Story with themed touches (like the cloud print used on Andy’s walls) that fans of the film will adore.

7. Al Jabal Resort, Chedi Khorfakkan: UAE
Opening: 2016
This multi-million dollar 5-star resort on the Gulf of Oman will integrate seamlessly into both its isolated cove location (white sandy beaches-check!) and the Emirati charm of the surrounding mountainside village of Khorfakkan. Boasting 100 villas with breathtaking sea-facing views, the off-the-beaten-path destination provides a strikingly traditional contrast to bustling Dubai.

8. The Oberoi Marrakech: Morocco
Opening: Late 2016
India-based luxury hotel company Oberoi Group is set to launch three properties in 2016, but we’re especially dreaming of staying in one of the Oberoi Marrakech’s 77 villas, each decorated in intricate, handcrafted style and complete with its own private pool. Surrounded by acres of olive groves and citrus orchards, the property also features a tranquil spa with a Moroccan hammam set on a private island in the middle of a lake.
Dream it, Book it, Live it.
thanks for the great information. it has help me alot.
A few years back, when I was newly starting out, I had managed to design my logo design by myself and I loved it too. Now, I still think it’s a pretty decent logo design, my customers love it and I don’t want to lose the brand recognition that I have gotten from this logo so instead of asking these guys to design a new logo, I asked them if they could add some little alterations and do some image tracing as well. Back then, I didn’t need the logo to be everywhere so there was no problem but now, obviously, I’ll need to use it a multitude of places so they managed to do a good job and enhance my logo!
